The Best Kids Groups and After School Clubs in Bolton 2019

We’re nearing the end of 2018, so now is a great time to start thinking about clubs, events and activities for children in the coming year. Whether your child is just learning to crawl, or ready to start writing their first stories, there are plenty of events to cater to a wide range of interests that are both free and paid. We’ve handpicked some of our favorites from the 2019 calendar.

Toddler’s Tales

As the name might suggest, Toddler’s Tales is story telling session for ages 0 to 5 where mums, dads and carers can bring along the little ones for story filled fun. It’s completely free and you can just show up, and there’s also a play session straight after where you’re welcome to stay and play (again, free!)

Arty Babies!

If your little one has a creative streak, then Arty Babies! in Bolton Central Library and Museum might be the perfect activity. It’s free with no booking required, and runs fortnightly, with songs, sensory activities and the most important thing: play!

Castle Hill Young People’s Centre offers free and safe play sessions for children aged 4-8, with additional sessions during half terms. There are plenty of activities available, such as arts and crafts, drama, sports, accredited activities and trips in the local area. It’s a great way for children to make local friends and build up skills and confidence. They are voluntarily signed up to the Ofsted Register, to ensure the utmost quality and safety.

During Craft a Story sessions, children can hone their reading skills with plenty of available reading materials, and can then make crafts based on their book. Children are also given a book that they are allowed to take home for 2 weeks, encouraging them to read at home.

Pixmore Ave Activities

Pixmore Ave offer a wide variety of after school activities for children, such as drama, sports, games, arts & crafts, music and more. They cater to all ages, and it’s completely free with no booking required, just turn up! Going with a group of friends is a great way to fill that slot that’s in between finishing school and having dinner.

After School Club Stoneclough

After School Club is one for slightly older children, with each session having a theme and a free hot meal provided by Zac’s Youth Bar. It’s completely free, with access to games consoles , pool tables, table football and more.

Baby Gym

If you’re after a safe place for your baby to learn to walk, the Baby Gym at Bolton Gymnastics offers the perfect environment. With soft play and lots of toys, your toddler can toddle around without the fear of bumping their head with every tumble, and costs just £3 per baby.
