A jewellery store has brought a sparkling smile to the face of Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies. Prestons of Bolton made a £1,520 donation to the Whites star’s charity, KiDs of Bolton. Kevin set up the charity last year to raise money for local youngsters.

KiDs of Bolton was launched last October and is already working towards helping deserving children’s causes in the area. The money was raised from donations made by parents who brought their children to see Father Christmas at the store’s grotto in December.

Prestons manager, Sue Hurst said:

“We do quite a lot with Bolton Wanderers. We sponsor the Man of the Match, so we thought it would be nice to give that little bit of extra support. It is a great cause supporting local youngsters and Kevin was absolutely thrilled with the donation. He stayed here for a good half an hour chatting to staff and signing autographs. Everyone was very excited to meet him.”
